Eileen Frazer Retires
After 8 Wonderful Seasons with Ballet Memphis
After eight years as a company artist, Eileen Frazer is retiring from the Ballet Memphis stage. Some of her favorite roles have been as Lady Capulet in Romeo and Juliet, Hermia in Midsummer Night’s Dream, First Violin in George Balanchine’s Concerto Barocco, and Van Helsing in our recently premiered version of Dracula. She has also worked with many renowned choreographers over her tenure with Ballet Memphis, including Trey McIntyre, Gabrielle Lamb, and Chanel DaSilva.
A native of Panama City, Panama, Eileen danced professionally with Ballet Nacional de Panama before coming to the States to attend Butler University where she earned a B.A. in Dance Pedagogy.
Eileen is a committed dance educator, leading intensives over the years at various schools and conservatories, including Chattanooga Ballet and Mississippi Metropolitan Ballet.
We are excited that Eileen won’t be going too far, as she will be transitioning to a full-time role on the Ballet Memphis staff where she’ll be working with the Artistic and School teams.
Please celebrate Eileen by attending one of her final performances in the title role as we close the season with “Cinderella” at the Orpheum Theatre.
Eileen will be performing Friday, April 14th, 2023 at 7:30pm and Saturday, April 15th, 2023 at 2pm. Buy your tickets now!
